We find the defendant. . .

What Will the Verdict Be? http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/245704/what-will-the-verdict-be.jhtml#id=1589237

Straight From the Document:

Amendment Five- "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury."

Connection:

For the R. Kelly trial, he chose to have a jury. With this decision, when it comes time to decide if the person on trial is guilty or not guilty. It is important to have a choice of having a jury because the judge may be bias and the person may have a better chance of getting off with a smaller penalty, depending on the crime at hand. This connects to the fifth amendment by showing that the person has a choice of having a jury or not and if it can help you.
